The International Fiscal Association Canada (IFA Canada) is a major forum for discussion of international financial issues. It brings together more than 10,000 taxpayers, financial advisors, government officials, members of the judiciary and elite university professors from more than 90 countries around the world who are involved in and interested in the taxation of international transactions and the study of comparative tax systems.
Founded in 1938, the Canadian International Finance Association is a neutral, independent, non-profit organization, free from international pressure from institutions or governments. Over the years, it has become one of the most important bodies concerned with studying international tax laws, accounting software standards, and economic initiatives that affect the movement of trade and investment.
The Canadian International Finance Association’s main branch in Canada currently has approximately 650 members and is the cornerstone of the programs and studies that are conducted in conjunction with the association’s annual conference. The Canadian branch also organizes seminars on current international tax developments and provides financial support for studies at Canadian universities.
