
The International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) seeks to promote statistical disciplines through its scientific activities as a non-profit charitable organization.
In the early 1970s, a group of Chinese statisticians came together and began to establish the China International Statistical Association, which was known as The International Chinese Statistical Association. The need for a formal organization to carry out statistical functions and coordinate activities among all Chinese statisticians and scholars in the field of statistics led to the establishment of The International Chinese Statistical Association at a conference held in Chicago in 1986. It was also decided at the same meeting to establish an internal statistical journal to serve the members of the association, and a committee was formed in 1987 to propose a draft constitution and bylaws to support the association in achieving its goals.
